This update is part of our weekly status report on the current visa wait times for non-immigrant visa appointments at Consular posts across India.

Comparative Table for Consular Posts in India

The below is a comparative table for the consular posts in India, as on April 29, 2024.

*  NA represents that no information is listed against a particular visa category on the DOS website.

The wait time for F, M, J interview appointments has decreased at all consular posts except New Delhi and Mumbai, where a significant increase is present from 311 calendar days to 913 calendar days. Students need not panic because the interview appointments available now are primarily place holder appointments to facilitate students who need to travel in June / July to raise a request for emergency appointment if all criteria are met.

In person interview appointments for B1/B2 for Mumbai have increased from 477 calendar days to 494 calendar days.

It is important to remember that these wait times provided by the Department of State are only indicative. Actual wait times may vary.

We will continue to monitor and share weekly updates on this important subject. At any time, for the latest in visa appointment wait times, one can visit the Department of State’s website
