In a significant development affecting thousands of U.S.-bound professionals, U.S. consular posts across India have begun cancelling H-1B visa appointments scheduled for December 15, 2025, or later in wake of the addional vetting including social media presence. These appointments are being automatically rescheduled to March 2026 or later, according to notifications received by applicants.

Several H-1B applicants have reported receiving official email intimation from the consulates, advising them to log into their visa profiles and download the updated appointment letter reflecting the new schedule.

Given the uncertainty and shifting timelines, we urge caution. H-1B beneficiaries are strongly advised to avoid international travel until the situation stabilizes and consular operations return to a predictable schedule. Travelers who depart the U.S. without a valid H-1B visa stamp risk being unable to re-enter until their rescheduled appointment is completed—potentially disrupting employment and personal plans.

Applicants are encouraged to monitor their email closely, check their visa profiles regularly, and stay in contact with their immigration counsel for further updates.
