		DELAY IN DELIVERY OF PASSPORTS FOR PETITION BASED NON-IMMIGRANT VISAS Posted on December 21, 2007 Back to Updates Notification on the website of US Consulate, Chennai indicates that due to implementation of new system requirements for processing petition based non-immigrant visas, the delivery of passports in these cases may be delayed by several days beyond their regular processing times. This notification has advised that applicants should wait at least seven working days after the date of interview before contacting the Consular Section regarding passport.
