Adjustment of Consular Exchange Rate with effect from October
15, 2007

With effect from October 15, 2007 the U.S. Embassy has adjusted
the consular exchange rate from Rs. 42 to a US Dollar to Rs. 40
to a US Dollar.
This will affect all Indian Rupee denominated costs for applying
for visas and passports both for immigrant and non-immigrant
visas.
Receipts issued by HDFC Bank prior to October 15, that reflect a payment of Rs. 4,200/- will still be honored and there will be no need for a supplemental payment.
